Happy Birthday Son…

38 years ago I gave birth to a son

At the age of six he came home from school and quoted John 3:16.During his elementary years, he loved learning and adored his sisters.In High School, he lost his way. All along, he always told me how much he loved me. I began to pray in a totally different way. I stood in the gap. As Christ stands before the throne, I stood holding on to the cross.I will never let go! For in the power of the cross came forgiveness, deliverance, healing and restoration for my beloved son.I now look forward to the years ahead.God will restore the years that the locust stole.Im so proud of the man he has become.
Thank you son ,

The Fairy Tale Gospel

As I write Dreams and Fantasies Untold, I experience the
many spiritual mysteries unveiling. Christian Fantasy is amazing!

T his is a guest post by Brent King.

Deeper than our deepest longings, fairy tales tell truths about our inner and outer world, truths that are either too obvious for modern men or too truthful. Take, for instance, Little Red Riding Hood. It affirms that the world is dangerous, that there is an evil wolf that will eat us up if given the chance. Yet there is also a huntsman who can slay the wolf and save us. The great themes of sin and redemption are encapsulated in such a story in a clever and deeply symbolic way.

It’s All About the Good News

GK Chesterton said that the deepest truth about fairy tales was not that dragons exist, but that they can be beaten. Who doesn’t see the bad news about dragons? They lurk all around us in our broken world. It’s the good news of their…

security

One of the deepest human needs is to have a sense of security. All of us want to feel like we’re on solid ground. The real issue however, is where we seek that security from. I’m working through Proverbs and Proverbs 10:15 says…

The wealth of the rich is their fortified city, but poverty is the ruin of the poor.

This proverb is very interesting. I’m not going to pretend that I fully understand the intent of the author, but I do have some ideas. In some ways, wealth can be a fortified city. There is no denying the fact that having significant financial resources provides a certain amount of buffer between you and the storms of life. That being said, monetary wealth does not equate to security in life. The reason for this is that wealth can go away. Now more so than ever people understand that the economy…

Giving…. NIV God’s Word

Matthew 6:3-4
3.But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4.so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

1 John 3: 17-18
17.If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? 18.Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

Hebrews 13:16
16.And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Philippians 4:19
19.And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7
6.Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7.Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Romans 12:13
13.Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

Acts 20:35
35.In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ “

Luke 6:38
38.Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Proverbs 22:9 9.A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.

CHERISH

THE LIFE YOU LIVE WAS HANDED TO YOU;
LOVE YOU HAVE GIVEN IN YOUR HEART YOU KNOW IS TRUE;
THE PAIN IN YOUR LIFE YOU TRY TO ENDURE;
BECAUSE FOR YOURSELF YOU KNOW YOU WANT MORE;
SO YOU CHERISH EVERY WAKING MOMENT HERE ON EARTH;
REMEMBERING THAT GOD ALLOWED YOUR MOTHER TO GIVE BIRTH;
SOME TAKE FOR GRANTED THE BLESSINGS THEY WERE GIVEN;
THEY TAKE THE PATH THAT GOD HAS FORBIDDEN;
TAKING STEPS WITHOUT THINKING;
DESTRUCTION OCCURS,THERE HEART IS BLEEDING;
LIVE LIFE AND CHERISH LOVE;
OTHERS NOT HANDED ALL IN LIFE;
LIKE A BATTERED HUSBAND OR A BATTERED WIFE;
OR EVEN A MOTHERLESS MOTHER AND A FATHERLESS FATHER;
NOT HAVING AN ATTITUDE LIKE WHY EVEN BOTHER;
THEY SEEM TO CHERISH THE LITTLE THAT WAS GIVEN;
THANKFUL FOR THE AIR THAT I BREATH;
GOD IS IN MY HEART I HOPE HE NEVER LEAVES;
NEVER SEEING ALL THAT NEEDS TO BE SEEN;
THAT’S WHY GOD HAS GIVEN US NIGHT SO WE CAN DREAM;
JUST REMEMBER NOT TO JUST CHERISH DAY BECAUSE WE NEED THE NIGHT TO DREAM AND PRAY.

Claim a double dose of God’s goodness in 2014….

Casting all your cares on him because he cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7

Overwhelmed, overtired, over it! Have you ever felt like you just can’t stand anymore worries? Life’s trials can get you down and cause not only emotional turmoil, but physical ailments too. That’s why God tells us in 1 Peter 5:7- to cast all our cares on him.

2013 has brought many families to a point of being overwhelmed and over it!!

As we approach the end of a year of financial hardships, health issues, and much more, we can look forward to 2014. (14- That’s 2 x’s 7) 7 is God’s number. 7 is a number that represents completeness. 7 is a number that brings completion and rest after a full week of hard work.

A double dose of God’s goodness sure sounds good to me!

I am claiming that double dose of 7 for 2014.

Join me as we pray for a ‘New Year’ full of prosperity, peace and rest….

Join me as I leave behind a year of trials and claim God’s blessings and protection over yours and ours…

Join me as we enter an era of expectancy…

Expect God to reopen the windows of heaven…

Rain down the blessings till the flood gates are opened…

Celebrate the holidays with an expectancy of great and mighty things in the upcoming year!

It’s all about the little ones….

It all about the little ones…

Concerns of the 21st century……

The news… What is happening to the children here in our country?

Why are we reading about shootings, suicides, drugs, gangs, violence, teen pregnancies etc, etc, etc?

This is not something new, but it seems to be getting worse and the talk is always about the terrible incidents.

What’s going on in their world? Educators, parents and caring social workers are working on the sidelines to improve the quality of life for our little ones….

There are some children who are getting early intervention to prevent the onset of something worse happening in their lives. Protection and guidance is needed as they grow and mature. There are many early interventionists who are assisting families and educators as they work with children who are experiencing behavioral issues.

Preschoolers are learning how to become good citizens, and are developing important socialization skills through play.

Bullying must continue to be addressed and prevented. Parents who need to learn better parenting skills should have access to community classes free of charge.

The Dept. of Social Services must take their responsibility to these children and families seriously. In order to prevent the terrible crimes from continuing, there has to be an awakening of not only the community and the schools, but of the local churches too.

This is the most important aspect of a child’s growth-“spiritual.”

Let’s get the word out- let the kids know they have the hope for a better future.

With a world that appears to be going crazy, what are the kids thinking?

Get a message of hope out to them.

They can be over-comers and world changers!
